The short version: Get CDL Texas is free for you. We may earn referral fees from some participating CDL schools when a student enrolls through our matching service, and that may influence which schools we present to you. Some pages on this site are editorial reviews of training programs; being reviewed does not mean a company pays us or works with us.

You are never obligated to enroll. You pay nothing to use this service.

What Get CDL Texas Is

Get CDL Texas (getcdltexas.com) is an independent CDL information site with a lead-matching and referral service. We publish guides to getting a CDL in Texas, editorial reviews of training programs, and forms that help prospective students get in touch with training providers. We are not a CDL school, we do not provide CDL training, and we are not affiliated with the Texas Department of Public Safety or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

How We Are Compensated

Get CDL Texas is free to use for prospective students. We may earn referral fees from some participating CDL training schools when a student who came through our service enrolls in their program. This is a standard performance marketing model used by many comparison, matching, and referral services. Not every participating school pays us, and not every organization mentioned on this site is a participating school.

This compensation structure means:

  • Participating schools that pay referral fees may appear more prominently on our site
  • Not every CDL school in Texas participates in our matching service. Pages that review or list programs may include organizations that do not
  • Being reviewed or listed on this site does not by itself mean an organization has a commercial relationship with us

How Different Pages on This Site Work

Not every page on this site works the same way, so here is how to tell them apart.

Editorial review. Some pages review a training program run by a trucking company or school -- for example, a carrier's paid CDL training program. On those pages we read what the organization publishes and describe it, including where its own pages disagree with each other. Unless the page says otherwise, being reviewed does not mean the organization pays us, has any relationship with us, or has approved what we wrote. Inclusion is not paid placement.

Commercial relationship. Some participating schools and training providers pay us a referral fee when a student who came through our service enrolls. A commercial relationship may influence which programs we present to you, and we say so above. Being described as a participating school does not by itself mean that school pays us.

What happens to your information. When you submit a school-matching form, we may share your information with one or more participating schools we believe may fit your location, timing, training goals, and payment path. Submitting a form does not guarantee that a matching school is available. We do not sell your information to advertisers or data brokers. Some tools on this site run only in your browser and send nothing to us or to anyone else; where a tool also asks you to submit a form, the page will say what that submission does.

Direct connection. We can only pass your information to an organization that has agreed to receive it. Where a page or form can connect you directly with a specific school or company, it will say so before you submit. If a page does not say so, you should assume we cannot. Where we have them, we link to the organization's own contact or application pages so you can reach it directly.

How This Affects Our Recommendations

We believe the participating schools in our matching service offer legitimate CDL training programs. However, our commercial relationships may influence which schools are presented to you. Our goal is to connect you with a program that fits your location, schedule, and goals -- but we cannot guarantee that any school we present is objectively the best option available in your area.

We encourage you to:

  • For Texas career schools subject to TWC regulation, confirm the school's current status with the Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools and Colleges program
  • If ELDT applies to you, confirm the training provider is listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. FMCSA does not approve or certify providers; listed providers self-certify that they meet the requirements
  • Request pass rate information and student outcomes data
  • Compare pricing and financing options with other programs
  • Read independent reviews before enrolling
  • Verify employer relationships and job placement claims directly with the school

Common Questions

Does submitting the form cost anything?
No. Using Get CDL Texas is completely free. You pay nothing to submit a form or to use any tool on the site.
Am I obligated to enroll if a school contacts me?
No. A school contacting you is the beginning of a conversation, not a commitment. You are free to decline at any time for any reason.
Will my information be sold to advertisers?
No. When you submit a school-matching form, we may share your information with one or more participating schools we believe may fit your location, timing, training goals, and payment path, for the purpose of connecting you with a program. Submitting a form does not guarantee that a matching school is available. We do not sell your data to unrelated advertisers or data brokers.
How do you choose which schools to work with?
We review schools based on their program offerings, scheduling options, geographic coverage, and general fit for our audience. We are not able to independently audit every aspect of a school's operations. We recommend verifying all details directly with the school before enrolling.
Are the salary figures on the site guaranteed?
No. Salary ranges are estimates based on Bureau of Labor Statistics data and publicly available industry information. Actual earnings vary significantly based on employer, route type, endorsements, experience level, and market conditions.
Is the company on a review page one of your partners?
Only if the page specifically says so. A review or listing does not by itself mean the organization has a commercial relationship with Get CDL Texas.
